About Pop-Punk
Pop Punk is a subgenre of punk, which as it on itslef, is a sub-genre of rock.
It all started in the early 1980s when bands such as Ramones and Buzzcocks entered the scene. The music is identified by having a fast tempo, loud and distorted electric guitars and power chord riffs that follow a classic and simple pop flow.
The genre itself has changed through the years, having more pop influences as time progresses, nevertheless, the themes conveyed in their lyrics have stayed consistent. Pop Punk often has lighthearted lyrical themes including boredom and teenage romance. Sometimes Pop Punk groups go further into the Punk Rock side of the spectrum rather than the pop side and convey darker themes ofter revolving around depression and/or politics.
